KYEM Director Visits TEMA
Kentucky Emergency Management Director, Col. Jeremy Slinker, presented two Kentucky Col. Awards on behalf of Governor Andy Beshear today at the Tennessee Emergency Management Emergency Operations Center. Jordan Howard and Michael Pickartz responded to Kentucky in the days following the Eastern Kentucky Floods last July. “When Kentucky needed a neighbor Tennessee showed up and sent their very best to help,” said Slinker. “These two individuals represented TEMA with selflessness, humility, and professionalism. That is the difference between having a neighbor and being a neighbor.” Additionally, TEMA Director Patrick Sheehan worked with Slinker in the hours following the event to coordinate helicopter assets with the Tennessee National Guard for life-saving rescue efforts.
