KYEM Hosts State Partners to Discuss Future Recovery
FRANKFORT, KY - KYEM leadership hosted several state partners to begin the conversation for a Disaster Recovery Framework initiative on October 19, 2023, at the state Emergency Operations Center. “We have a lot of incredible partners that have recovery resources, particularly when it comes to funding opportunities,” said KYEM Director Jeremy Slinker. “This initiative will help us identify those resources and how they can be used to improve our recovery practices.” The frequency and intensity of incidents in recent years have strengthened partnerships among state agencies, and this initiative will enhance those relationships, assign specific roles and responsibilities, and continue to improve Kentucky's already effective recovery approach. “The Commonwealth has done a heroic job with recovery efforts in response to the tornadoes and floods.” Slinker continued. “This framework will formalize, memorialize the approach and b and better position the Commonwealth for future disaster recovery.”
